Chamisul Soju's precursor was Jinro Soju. The newest soju craze is this new release, "Jinro is Back," which has gone viral. Within the first seven months of its first release in Korea in April 2019, it sold 100 million bottles. The resurrected Jinro Soju has rebuilt itself to appeal to the tastes and fashions of modern customers, while yet maintaining the nostalgic notion of the transparent, blue soju bottle of the past decades. The milder "Jinro Is Back" has significantly less alcohol by volume than the original, but it still has a smooth, crisp, and somewhat spicy soju flavor.
